Please Join the KTSY Family on Friday, January 12 from 6-10 AM at Lucky Perk Coffee as we celebrate the beloved man that is Dave Arther. Record a farewell message below.
In 2011, Brian Yeager, the General Manager for KTSY, called Dave and said that it was time for Dave’s dream to come true. After Dave, his wife Shauna, and Brian got together and dreamed together about Dave doing the morning show at KTSY, it wasn’t long until he called Brian back and accepted the job!
That started an incredible 12-year run on KTSY’s Morning Show while living just down the road from his parents who still live in his childhood home. He started with Michelle Yeager as his co-host. When she had to step back due to health issues, Karrie Stoldt stepped into the co-host position. Dave got to train her in doing radio and being a radio co-host. But, life stepped in and Karrie had to make a change. Brian wanted to find a new co-host for Dave, but after two co-hosts, Dave was nervous about making another change.
Tristi joined the show in 2017, and Dave trained another co-host. With a team supporting them, they became a top-rated morning show in the Treasure Valley, which Dave says is some of the best radio of his career.
Not only has Dave been on the morning show since 2011, he’s also served at KTSY as the music director, program director, sounding board for Brian, cheerleader for the whole team, and consummate prankster (you can ask Brian about the time the refrigerator got moved to block Brian in the restroom!).
This year has brought some big challenges for Dave. After spending time off the air to deal with health challenges, Dave and Shauna decided it was time for Dave to refocus, and get off the grind of getting up so early. So, Dave has retired from KTSY and will be deeply missed.
But, we aren’t going to let Dave just disappear. On January 12th, we are throwing a retirement party for Dave, live on air from 6 AM – 10 AM at Lucky Perk at Eagle and Overland in Meridian. You’re invited to come say hi and tell Dave all that he has meant to you!
