It was my turn this week for the next KTSY blog entry and I was creatively dry as a bone.
What should I write about?
I shared my struggle with my co-worker, Kevin, who then made an excellent suggestion. FOOD! He’s right! How can you go wrong with talking about food? Unless you talk about eating head cheese, cow tongue, or liver. So this one is simple…
Three of MY favorite places to eat.
I’m not a foodie by any stretch of the imagination. It’s just where I tend to find myself. Please feel free to comment with your favorites.
The Matador has to make the list. Don Godman (from the afternoon show on KTSY) and I get together on a regular basis. We call it a lunch meeting so the boss-man will pick up our tab. The Matador is our official lunch meeting location. They’ve got a great tortilla soup and the best salsa in town.
Another spot is actually just around the corner from The Matador at The Village in Meridian. The Yard House. Not because it’s anything super unique or special but it’s close to home and they have killer Happy Hour appetizer specials. My wife Shauna and I love to get together with friends once a week and The Yard House is a favorite for the value and the food is super good. Be sure to get the chicken lettuce wraps!
And finally, for those super special occasions like anniversaries, milestone birthdays or you just want to treat someone to a delectable meal, it’s always Barbacoa for me. Spendy? Oh yeah. Delicious? You better believe it! They serve your steak on a hot rock and it continues to cook as you eat it. Oh, and they also set it on fire when they serve it! Speaking of fire, they have a dessert that they set on fire too!
So there ya go, a few places around town you might spot me! How about you?
