We are nearing those days where the indoors and air conditioning become more and more important for play dates and keeping the kids occupied. I love the places around town that offer this reprieve for families as well as offering opportunities to learn.
One of the go-to places for those of us with little ones is the Children’s Museum of Idaho. They opened their doors in 2018 and are “dedicated to educating children and strengthening families in an active learning environment that inspires every child to imagine, create, discover and explore through the power of play.”
Kids and parents can enjoy the felt pizza making station, the grocery store, the train room, and the opportunity to see the farm in action with a fancy electric cow that you can “milk!” They can play in the outdoor farm, discover bugs in a cave, practice veterinary medicine, and put on a stage play complete with dress-up clothing and a stage.
The Museum is in the middle of a very exciting expansion right now–and will be open all summer while the construction is going one. While our girls are getting on the older side of enjoying the Museum for themselves, we still love to visit with our youngest and now take my nephew to play when our family is in town.
He loves the pirate ship!
Couldn’t get him to stop digging in the dirt!
And that sweet laugh when he can’t get enough of the flying ball room.
