Just imagine that you are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
Why did you spill the coffee? Because someone bumped into you? Nope.
You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea.
Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.
So, when life happens and you feel bumped or shaken, whatever is inside you will come out. It’s easy to fake it, until you get to those moments.
It’s important to ask ourselves “what’s in my cup?”
When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratitude, peace and humility?
OR
Anger, bitterness, impatience, a victim mentality?
We all have a cup, and each of us chooses how to fill it.
I’m working towards filling my cup with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words or affirmation, scripture, positivity, kindness, gentleness, love for others, and HOPE!
You can too! You’ve got this! I believe in you and know that God will help. Let’s fill up our cups together!
