Boise’s Freak Alley. Downtown. Mountain Home. And now Caldwell.
All are locations where you can view beautiful murals that are as unique as the artists that paint them and the cities that commission them.
Caldwell has it’s very first large-scale mural that will be completed this week by Portland artist Yulia Avgustinovich.
The city of Caldwell saw her work on the Jefferson building in downtown Boise and it was a very easy decision to have her paint the one near the new downtown apartments in Caldwell near the Indian Creek Plaza.
The Caldwell mural showcases all the unique things about Caldwell and the state of Idaho not only now, but for the future. Yulia says she wanted to represent agriculture of this area through sunflowers, corn, hops, grapes, pumpkins, and nature, birds and deer in a mural that tells a story.
The corn husks are beautiful, to be sure. But to see the rest of the mural, you’ll just have to get out and visit!
