Summer has officially come to Southern Idaho.
Growing up here has given me an appreciation for the variety of experiences we can have, depending on where you are in the state.
When you are tired of the heat, you can head to the mountains and enjoy a 10 degree drop in temperature. Whether you enjoy getting away to a cabin, have a camper, or just pitch a tent, enjoying the mountains is one of our favorite things about Idaho summers
I grew up going to a summer camp in McCall, ID. I loved sleeping over in primitive cabins for a week of fun, adventure, and learning more about my new best friend Jesus. As I grew up, I started to dream about working at the summer camp so I could help other kids have an experience like me!
It was during a summer of working at this beloved camp that I met a cute guy. We started talking, and three years later we became husband and wife–right there on the shore of Payette Lake.
It’s been 20 years now and we still love camp. Our kids look forward to their week away in the mountains and we love that they are having a great experience, just like we did.
There is no shortage of summer camps that you can be a part of. Whether it is a church camp, a day camp, a family camp, or a camp for kids with special needs, the Idaho mountains are bursting with opportunities! A quick Google search and you are on your way to making memories that will last a lifetime.
