When her son was born, he named him Samson and the Lord blessed him as he grew up. And the spirit of the Lord. Listen to this. And the spirit of the Lord began to stir him while he lived in Muhammadan, which is located between the towns of Zorah and Eshtaol. Judges 13:24-25 (NLT)
Now this word stir is very interesting when you look at the Hebrew. It could be translated “to beat persistently or to be disturbed.” This paints the picture that as Samson is growing up as a child, becoming a young man, that he feels that something is wrong. The spirit is beating in him, saying, you are made for a purpose and you are made to fix the problems of the world. He’s stirred; he feels uncomfortable with what’s happening around him. And when you hear that, it brings a very important question that you need to ask yourself today.
How is the Spirit stirring you?
Are you living right now and feeling like something doesn’t feel right? Are you living right now and something is uncomfortable inside of your heart and your soul? Could it be that this stirring is God saying, “Hey, it’s time to open your eyes. Hey, it’s time to open your ears. Hey, it’s time for you to jump into the purpose that I have created you for.” Because this world is crazy. And it needs what God is asking you to do. This is a prayer that if every disciple of Christ would pray and if God would reveal this to you, which I believe He will, your city of Meridian would be flipped upside down and transformed into something amazing. How is the spirit stirring in you?
