Do you need a reminder that God is with you no matter what you’re going through? Then “I Got You” is the song for you. Danny Gokey always brings such encouragement and inspiration through his songs and always points us to Scripture and this song is no different.
Throughout this song, Danny sings about how he has the Lord in his life in every scenario–seasons of joy, pain, waiting, and more. It reminds me of one of my favorite psalms in the Bible, Psalm 73. Asaph, the writer, starts by complaining to God about how the wicked are prospering even though they rebel against God while the righteous face troubles. Wrestling with the tough reality began to take a toll on Asaph’s faith…until He got into the presence of God and God shifted his perspective. God reminded Asaph of the joys of relationship with God, no matter what is happening to us or in the world around. Asaph remembered that it is good to be near God, and that even if his strength were to fail, God would be his portion forever.
Remember, no matter what you’re facing today, good or bad, you have Jesus and He’s got you, and you get to walk through every moment of life with Him.
