God has been leading people to choose hope that is totally upside down to the world. Look at the “I Choose Hope That…” statements above from listeners just like you who are living differently in a strange world. This is because of YOUR partnership!
You have been a part of KTSY’s 33-year history of building hope in southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon. And all of that is building to this time in history–this time when hope will be needed now more than ever. You and I will need hope more than ever–and the community around us will see Jesus’ hope like NEVER before because of you!
As awesome as that is, I believe that we are coming to a time that is beyond awesome. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s going to be phenomenal. It’s a time that I’m calling a “KTSY’s For Such a Time as This Time.”
The Bible records the story of Queen Esther, a Jewish orphan snatched up to become the queen of Persia. Her courage and hope saved her people from destruction. It was at a critical moment that her uncle said to her, “Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
I am convinced that you and I are here, as part of the KTSY Family, for such a time as this.
In Esther’s day, a pagan king ruled the land. Today, our culture is forgetting God.
In Esther’s day, it seemed that the people of God would be destroyed. Today, atheism, secularism, agnosticism all seem to be growing faster than the church.
In Esther’s day, it was dangerous to fall out of line. Today, you can be canceled for speaking up for what you believe.
In Esther’s day, these challenges were enormous, but Esther also had to deal with the loss of her parents, abuse by those in power, and having everything she knew and loved turned upside down. In today’s world, nothing robs our hope like the worries about our kids, health, relationships, and surviving another day.
What we have experienced this year is nothing compared to what is coming. We are heading into the most insane year ever–2024. Everything in the past few years, I believe, may just have been the beginning of birth pains coming in 2024.
2024 is preparing to be an intense year. An election that could tear our country apart. Frustration at how much it costs to live. Incredibly deep polarization. An ongoing war in the Middle East. The list goes on and on. There are a lot of things coming to a head in 2024. A lot of things will be used to tear apart our hope.
It’s easy for believers to become more obsessed with politics and personalities than it is to be focused on Jesus. It’s easy to watch the news more than look to Jesus.
Then when our own personal lives blow up, when the things that we really care about–our kids, our relationships, our job, and health. When the pressure hits those, we realize how dry we are and how the hope we were looking at leaves us with nothing!
But the KTSY Family is living differently. We know this simple truth: “Those who HOPE in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
I CHOOSE HOPE is the message of KTSY! I have a dream that at the end of 2024 we all will say confidently and loudly, “I have chosen hope, the hope that comes from Jesus, the hope that God used KTSY to bring me through 2024.” This is a message for Such a Time as This! You and I are called to choose and share this hope like never before!
As the year becomes more intense tune in to KTSY more. We are very intentional so that if you listen to KTSY for 10 minutes, it will bring you Christ’s hope. It’s more than DJs, music, or any one thing–it’s an experience of hope! All the way to the I Choose Hope yard signs across the valley.
I hope you feel the passion in this letter. I hope you are catching this passion for “KTSY’s For Such A Time As This” because this is not an opportunity that KTSY can do it on its own. The staff is amazing– but you have just as important a role as any on the team. It’s like when you go camping and you have the perfect fire built.
