God is worthy of glory no matter what season of life in which we find ourselves. We know that, but if we’re honest sometimes it can be hard to walk it out. Whether we are struggling to keep hope, facing pain, or feeling weak, “God Be The Glory” reminds us that God is still good to us even when life is hard and He’s deserving of our praise and trust.
As I’m reflecting on this song, I find myself in a season of grieving the death of a loved one. And the lyrics remind me of Psalm 34:1-2 NLT.
”I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart.”
God impressed on my heart that constantly speaking the praises of God means I am acknowledging His goodness and praising Him in every moment and season of life, not just the easy ones and the joyful ones. You see, God invited me into the same perspective and heart posture We Are Messengers’ invites us into through this song, and I believe He’s extending the same invitation to you.
No matter what you’re going through today, trust God, cling to Him for hope and worship Him even in weakness. The trust you place in God and the praise you offer Him from a season of difficulty and pain is a beautiful offering to Him, just like the offerings that come from seasons of celebration. Be encouraged: He’ll be faithful to carry you through this season, just like He’s always done.
