When the kids were home for Christmas break, we watched a lot of football, which means a lot of commercials too. One caught my attention—it mentioned “Quitter’s Day.” Did you know it’s the second Friday in January, the day more people abandon their New Year’s resolutions than any other?
But here’s the thing: sometimes quitting is good! When it comes to unhealthy habits or toxic mindsets, quitting can be life-changing.
We flipped the idea of quitting on its head and celebrated the good kinds of quitting and shared incredible stories, like:
- Quit drinking: Celebrating seven years sober.
- Quit walking away from God: Now finding joy in Him every day.
- Quit smoking: Red Hots helped a lot!
- Quit worrying about everything: Trusting God to supply all their needs.
- Quit controlling every detail: Realizing God is in control, not us.
Here’s the goosebump moment: While we were having this conversation on air, a friend texted us:
“Hi, I wanted to say how much I appreciate KTSY. I’m resigning from a job today that has taken an emotional toll on my family. Despite many prayers, I was still nervous. Hearing you bring up Quitter’s Day felt like God’s final message to me—I’m on His path. Thank you for helping me walk in faith.”
God worked a miracle right there! He’s ready to meet you where you are too. What’s one thing you can quit today to make space for His peace and joy? Let Him lead—you’ll never regret it.
