There’s always a bright side. Miracles. Through the heavy and hard, God is working.
My husband and I were standing in the yard, overwhelmed by the amount of decisions that needed to be made and the amount of money that needed to be spent in the last few weeks, and now this.
Up to this point, we have worked with contractors who eradicated mold in the attic space, built us a whole new roof and are in the process of putting up new siding, which will get painted, finishing off the fixes and leaving us with a basically new house!
In the middle of all of this, we started running low on water. The sprinklers wouldn’t pop up, and for my husband who works hard to have a lush, green lawn, that just wasn’t going to work. A few days later when the water slowed down even more so that we couldn’t run the dishwasher or laundry, I got concerned. Now, to not be able to flush or wash because there is literally no water is a huge concern.
Contractors who dig wells have massive waiting lists and we were not optimistic that anything would be able to be done quickly, but then…the miracle. As I write this, permits are being pulled and equipment is being moved to start the process of fixing our well.
I have a little sign next to my bed that says I still remember the days that I prayed for the things that I have now. I didn’t pray for these challenges, but I have these challenges because of the blessings in my life. And you know what? The glimmers of hope, the miracles, the provision–they are all results of God moving in our challenges. Nothing is more humbling than the God of the universe caring enough about these things…and me.
He is so faithful. In all of it.
Whatever is going on in your life today, I hope you can see the bright side. It’s God.
It takes work to look beyond the challenge, but it’s worth it to find Him.
