Cindy’s Story of Living Hope
Even before I believed in God, I listened to KTSY. The music was good. And everything was nothing BUT good! There was nothing negative. The people were always positive. And I was looking for that positivity in my life. That positivity was on KTSY and it is there now. That positivity was part of what led me to God.
But after I started my walk with God, I lost some people in my life that, that meant a lot to me. And I became really angry, and I couldn’t understand why God would let me suffer that much. I quit going to church as often. I stopped listening to KTSY.
This past year, I’ve put my radio back on KTSY. I’m going back to church more often; I’m praying and reading my Bible again. I’ve stopped drinking. I want to thank you for still being here, playing music that speaks to my heart with hope.
Cindy’s story is too real. Many of us are close to God, and then life happens. Right now, it seems like we have been bombarded with change, bad news, and a sense that the world is not headed in a good direction. It’s easy to lose heart and hope.
But then, you hear words of hope on KTSY and you know you can keep on going. You find your way back to His hope.
To Cindy, KTSY was a place of positivity. But that simple positivity led to something deeper–not just the generic, feel-good based-on-nothing-positivity the world has. But the positivity that comes from Jesus–the One who broke the chains of death and opened the way to be with the Father.
Like Cindy you may have experienced times when life throws everything it has at you–hurt, pain, and confusion. Those times when bitterness and anger seep in deep. If so, you probably also experienced what happens when you turn KTSY back on. How you re-find the hope of Jesus; how you get a smile on your face even in the hard times.
Those are the moments when you realize the blessings of being part of a family that is focused on His hope. And this connection is more important now than it has been in the past. It feels like the world continues to bombard us. One day it’s the economy. The next day it seems no one can get along or have a civil conversation. And the day after that it’s a sense that the foundations have been kicked out of society. And that doesn’t include the personal hits we take the day in and day out.
This KTSY Family is powerful because it doesn’t focus on the negative–but remembers that God is in control; that this world is not our home; that there is good in the world and in each other. It is amazing to celebrate hope in the big and little things. To know that in this family, there are so many people doing so much good!
Right now, we have a choice. We either stay connected to hope on purpose or we will be overwhelmed with despair.
That’s why the KTSY family is coming to you this week. To remind you of the hope you experience as a vital part of the KTSY Family, and to let you know that this fall’s fundraiser is one of the most important fundraisers we have had.
KTSY has been impacted by all that is going on in the world. Things are tight right now. At a time when hope is in short supply, God’s ministry through KTSY is needed more than ever.
Your partnership in the past has been so encouraging. In heaven, you and I will have to sit down and have Jesus show us all the impact that your gifts had!
During this time when hope is in short supply, I’d love to invite you to become a partner with KTSY again. Your monthly gift of $35.00 or more is so important right now. Your gift of $35 is going to have a huge kingdom impact on your life and the lives of people like Cindy. Every gift is important; your monthly gift is a sign that you believe in hope and its importance every month of the year.
God bless you and give you His hope,
