Raising up kids can get overwhelming but there is JOY and FUN that help offset the tough moments and offer kids opportunities to stay grounded AND have fun.
Spring Sports fill our evenings right now and there is nothing quite like the spring weather to push kids past their limits. One minute it’s bright and sunny and the next minute we are reaching for our winter coats, hats, and gloves.
Our girls are in 1-A high school softball, Optimist girls flag football, and i9 basketball, which have all offered them some amazing benefits. Being a part of a team and working toward a common goal is something that brings a sense of growth and accomplishment that you want for your kids. Coaches are often volunteering their expertise and experience, investing in our daughters, and spending hours doing something they love that inspires our girls to love it too!
These kids are resilient, talented, adaptable, and laser-focused. They inspire me to be the same in the things that God is putting in front of me.
The cool thing is that these girls just wanna have fun and won’t really understand the impact of these experiences until later, which is fine. It just gives me another reason to cheer for both sides of the ball with all I’ve got. I’ll keep sitting sidelines as long as they give me a reason to!
I am so grateful for the sports program directors, coaches, referees, facilities managers, transportation drivers, parents, and volunteers of all kinds keeping these sports moving forward, offering an amazing opportunities for kids to grow up Idaho Strong. Who knows?! Maybe one day they will be the coach!!
